What was the last conference or webinar you attended? Did you learn some great content? Probably.
Did you walk away with action steps? Maybe.
Good content is not enough. You need to implement what you learn and do it quickly. Otherwise, one year later you will be stuck in the same place.
You need to make one small decision, take action and evaluate. Decide, act, evaluate–repeat. Through iteration, a series of small decisions becomes a large change.
What change do you want to make in your business? What change have you dreamed of year after year?
What if there was a way to make it happen? There is!
The altAccountant is an online workshop for CPAs, accountants and bookkeepers designed by Hector Garcia and Kirk Bowman around three pillars: Positioning, Pricing and Innovation.
Positioning is the customer's perception of your expertise. Pricing is the customer's perception of the value you create. Innovation is the fuel to continue forward momentum in positioning and pricing.

Why The altAccountant?
We have developed online courses for years. The one piece of feedback we hear more than any other is, “How do I ________?”
“How do I?” is code for “I want to take action now.” And, we hear you.
After researching online education, we discovered the altMBA by Seth Godin. After studying his model and talking to altMBA graduates, we created the altAccountant.
The altAccountant emphasizes doing over learning, because learning happens by doing. The faster you do, the faster you learn. And, if you have a team to support you, you accomplish more.
What is the altAccountant?
The altAccountant is a six-week online workshop. We chose the word workshop because you are going to do the “work”.
Every two weeks, we will focus on one of three pillars: Positioning, Pricing and Innovation. Each week, you will complete a project for the pillar.
At the end of six weeks, you will have completed six projects, two for each pillar. The projects will relevant because they will be about your business.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Do you have more questions? We may have answered them below.
How is the altAccountant different from other accounting and bookkeeping courses?
We are laser-focused on the getting stuff done. Yes, the altAccountant has content. However, the it is lean on content and heavy on doing.
You will have a project to compete each week. You will be accountable to your cohort for the project. And, the cohort will provide feedback so you can improve.
In short, if other courses are working for you, take them. If not, register now.
Are the weekly sessions mandatory (Learning, Creating, Debriefing)?
Yes. You need to engage with your peers to give and receive from the altAccountant. They will depend on you, and you will depend on them. You cannot travel this road alone.
How should I plan my time during the altAccountant?
We all have 168 hours in a week. The difference between you and someone else is how you allocate your 168 hours.
You will need to prioritize 8 hours per week for the sessions and project work. What sacrifice will you make for the change you desire? TV, social media, sports?
What time of day are the Learning, Creating and Debriefing sessions?
The Learning session will be a the same time each week during the workshop, probably at 2pm Eastern. The Creating and Debriefing sessions will be at a time of mutual convenience for your cohort.
Can I choose who will be in my cohort?
No. We will assign you to a cohort. All you have to do is show up and do the work.
How do you work with different time zones?
We will take your time zone into account when we assign you to a cohort. Ideally, the members of your cohort will be in the same time zone. If not, we minimize the difference between time zones within the cohort.
Will the weekly sessions be recorded?
We will record the Learning session, so you can refer back to it if necessary. The Creating and Debriefing sessions will not be recorded. Be sure to schedule the sessions on your calendar.
